So, my launch Xenon died after playing Castlevania son wasn't even hot, then it gave RROD with the second error code of 0020 (digital backbone). The darn gpu bga went.

Argos seemed very happy to help, Would recommend them if you going round the shops looking for a jasper as they will let you (under no obligation to buy) look inside the box.

As you can see bought from Argos. They were quite helpful with my strange request to see the power supply but neater the less they let me look inside, and what do you know, my suspicion was correct it was a jasper.

So with the help of this site a bagged my self a jasper with the hope that it will be end of my RROD problem, oh and hdmi to boot.

Quick note my lot is 0843X did not like the X

I think they have policy that let you inspect the goods before you buy. It quite hard to find a jasper I know, but you just need to find a retailer that has had a lot business over the Christmas period, with the hope that they have had new xbox's off Microsoft. I just thought that I have seen how busy Argos is and thought I'd try my luck.

I told the assistant that I was willing to buy a xbox, but I wanted a specific type of box, if they ask why just tell it has less of chance of over heating (I Just kept it simple). Maybe tell them that other stores have let people see inside the box.

A few things to remember

Arcade jaspers talk about integrated memory (NAND Flash) 256MB
form my research it seems (I could be wrong) anything manufactured after October 2008 with a lot with 084

Has a hdmi port

Delta fans

but the biggest give-away is 150W power supply (it feels a lot lighter compared to xenon power supply). Although it dose not state the power requirements on the lot sticker any more.

Lite-on dvd (much quite than my Hitachi and TS-25)

I also think asking a more mature member of staff helped as well.

Anyway sorry for the long wait I would have been back sooner but you know with snow and all.

If argos dosent work just try another.
