This is my second xbox 360 from dell.cm. Once again a lite-on and no jasper. I thought end of september should definitely have a jasper but no, it still an xbox 360 with 14.2 amps. Also lot number for this was 0839X. I wonder what the X means?

Try getting some power measurements and peaking through the vent holes. 14.2A could be Jasper, just like some of the first Falcons were still labeled 16.5A. Zephyr/Xenon were 16.5A and they just reused leftover stickers for the first Falcons made. The same could happen here.

The X is something new that I haven't seen before.

Through which vents should i look through? And what should i look for?

Have you got any power (kill-a-watt) readings from this xbox. Dashboard and in game readings would be nice!

The kill-a-watt is a plug in device. http://www.amazon.com/P3-International-P4400-Electricity-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU I dont think you can use a multimeter very easily as there are no bare wires. A friend may have one, if you dont. You could be one of the first Japser owner, as this 'X' after the lot number is a new thing. A power reading will definately give you an answer, as will looking through the vents and looking for motherboard differences. If you look in with a flashlight from the opposite end to the harddrive can you see a floating heatsink?

Some user spotted the Xbox 360 Arcade Lot #: 0838X / 0839X at bestbuy, gamestop, and Fry's.

No one proved yet these "X" models are jaspers or not. However, some people claiming that if "X" models are jaspers

Ok heres a pic i took of the raw internals. Maybe you can identify it through the pics.

I did not open up my other 360 arcade which i also listed on this site, but there was no point since it was assembled a month earlier than this on, on aug 28. ALso that one had no X.

It would be very helpful if you could remove the GPU heatsink and take another pic. My V3 falcon (lot 836) looks almost like yours, but the small silver capicitors on mine have red paint on top whereas yours has bluish/purple....

good luck!!

Thanks for the pics Lycan00. I agree that seeing the GPU directly or having some power measurements would confirm what this is. It looks like a Falcon, but there's always the possibility, albeit very small, that the board layout may not change with Jasper, and thus would look the same in the type of pics you took.

Im a noob at this stuff, but is this one hackable? id really appreciate if someone let me know. Thanks!

No, the lite-on drivers are currently not hackable and probably wont be int he future cause they are different in design than the tohsiba or samsung. Thus you cant flash this xbox. All you can do i drop the key from the liteon and put in a compatible replacement drive, assign a new individual key to that drive to pair em up and then flash it.

guys look at the pictures lycan posted:

http://img367.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01860az6.jpg
http://img367.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01864sb2.jpg

and compare them with moddages jasper photos:

http://pictures.xbox-scene.com/xbox360/jasper/bc096668.jpg
http://pictures.xbox-scene.com/xbox360/jasper/f3c460fe.jpg

theyre almost identical apart from the capacitor colour and if you look at the small gold parts to the right of the heatsink on the motherboard they have 4 solder points on the jasper and not on lycans, but still like someone said maybe they just havent changed the mo/bo layout.

I have the same lot number (0839X) as lycan, only i have the elite version.
