Quiet enough at the dash with no disc (but still well louder than enything else I have (Wii, HTPC). When a disc is in the dvd drive it proves to be the loudest part of the 360 by a good margin.

So the new BenQ drives are not necessarily quieter than the Hitachi drives after-all?
